Summoners are a Portsmouth-based alternative rock band backed by BBC Introducing, who described them as “truly a once in a generation new rock band destined for a bright and stratospheric future.”

Combining huge hooks and anthemic choruses with heavy riffs, atmospheric textures and unpredictable, non-linear songwriting, Summoners balance immediate impact with a willingness to experiment. Sitting in the modern alternative rock space alongside artists such as Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Tigercub and Reuben, their music explores mental health, emotional conflict and the anxieties of modern life with equal measures of vulnerability and intensity.

Summoners built rapid momentum with a prolific release run in 2025, releasing six singles and their self-produced debut EP No Control within six months. Within six months of the EP’s release, the band surpassed 250,000 streams and received seven BBC Introducing features, alongside extensive international radio rotation, nearly 1,000 Amazing Radio spins and more than 50 playlist adds, with further support from TotalRock and music press.

The response has been emphatic. Phase B Records described Summoners as “too weird for the mainstream, too accessible for the purists, and weaponising that tension.” Louder Than War added: “Rock music is, if this is the measure, in excellent health… watch them go stratospheric.”

Live, Summoners have developed a reputation for intense, high-impact performances. Their BBC Introducing-backed No Control launch sold out, while subsequent appearances have seen the band continue to build their audience at festivals and shows across the UK. In 2026, Summoners were also named Best Heavy/Alternative Band at the Portsmouth Music Awards.

Summoners are now preparing for their biggest chapter yet. With two new singles planned for early 2027 and a full album already written and in development, the band are continuing to expand their live presence, including dates with The Fierce & The Dead this October. Having built everything independently so far, Summoners are now looking for the right partners, collaborators and opportunities to help take the band further.
